Two elaborately dressed Mayan figures flank a central fire, with a Mayan glyph frieze across the top border and decorative border elements throughout. Executed on a natural-fiber ground using applied black pigment and sand, framed behind glass in a black frame. Signed along the lower margin: B. Harvey, Mexico, with a partial numeral visible at right edge. A handsome and characteristic example of mid-20th century Mexican artisan work.
