A French sterling silver egg cup with matching spoon, beautifully presented in its original fitted case...a thoughtful and timeless gift.
The egg cup is raised on a slender stem with spreading foot decorated with a slender band. The egg cup has a wider foliate decorative band. The matching spoon complements the cup perfectly.
Both pieces are monogrammed "Marthe" lending a personal and sentimental touch. An ideal gift for a namesake, a beloved grandmother, or anyone who appreciates the charm of a traditional breakfast service.
The set is housed in its original presentation box with a cream interior fabric and a green "leatherette" exterior. The box shows age-appropriate wear and the interior shows marks from use but it remains sturdy for showcasing the set.
French, C 1900, fully marked for .950 sterling silver by the 1st. Titre mark. The makers punch is being researched.
Measurements; 2 7/8" high, top opening diameter is 1 3/4", spoon is 4 7/8" long, weight is 34 grams for both.
Condition Report; Very good antique condition, normal surface scratches in accordance with age and use.
