This is a very rare piece of Mancioli pottery with hand painted flowers. The company was founded in 1946 by Natale Mancioli in Montelupo Fiorentino. The firm produces earthenware pottery in modern, traditional and rustic tableware for the home. In the 1950's the company, was under the direction Luciano Mancioli, son of the owner, and he began creating modern pieces created by famous artists and designers including Ingrid Attemberg, Giorgio Bessi, Giancarlo Casini, Sergio Dello Strologo, Luigi Massoni, Nanni Valentini and Eva Zeisel for Raymor. In the eighties the manufacturer received commissions by some museums across the world. They also recreated reproductions, in limited series of historical pottery from the Medici court.
The company has used many different marks for its various lines. The marks on this pitcher date from the late 1950's through the early 1960's.
