The oval top features … Read more A beautifully executed Louis XV revival occasional table in carved and veneered walnut, early 20th century. The oval top features bookmatched burled walnut veneers with a shaped molded edge, supported by a deeply carved pierced apron with acanthus leaf and foliate decoration centering carved cartouches at each side. Raised on tall cabriole legs with elaborate acanthus carving throughout, joined by an arched X-stretcher with acorn finial.
The carving quality is exceptional — the depth and complexity of the acanthus work reflects skilled hand craftsmanship consistent with high-end early 20th century production. In the Louis XV Rococo tradition, the piece has a wonderful sense of movement and vitality that photographs don’t fully capture in person. See less
