What makes this one so rare and special is the fact that it has been carved into. During my searches for this wooden serving tray, I found that almost all trays are plain with the exception of metal handles or brackets, but most are not decorated past those features. This 16” by 10” teakwood is hand carved with the scene of a country home that looks newer than the timeframe of the making of the tray itself, which points to it being carved by its owner. Even more special and cool! These trays became a household staple all over the Nordic region in the 1950’s and 60’s and this tray was made in Holland but it’s not stamped, which also points to it being older than most. What a cool find!! The details in the carving are my favorite part. It’s so well done and even, like a ruler was used, it’s so detailed and perfect. The lightweight and light in color teak wood is durable and easy to cut. See less
