An exceptional pair of late 19th to early 20th century Continental cabinet doors featuring six richly detailed repoussé metal panels depicting scenes after the works of the celebrated Flemish painter David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690).
Arranged as a cohesive narrative series, the panels portray lively tavern interiors, card players, drinkers, and peasant genre scenes characteristic of Teniers' most beloved compositions. The deeply modeled relief work displays remarkable detail and dimensionality, from expressive figures and period furnishings to finely rendered architectural elements.
The panels are mounted within handsome ebonized wood frames, creating a striking contrast between the dark patinated metal and the warm wood surround.
