Circular base and brass stem paired with a pleated checked fabric lampshade. Scandinavian production, 1950s.
A Scandinavian production from the second half of the 20th century, this table lamp combines a slender brass frame with a more decorative pleated checked fabric lampshade. The circular base supported by small spherical feet contributes to the overall visual lightness, while the contrast between the linearity of the stem and the soft volume of the lampshade recalls the Nordic domestic style popular in the 1950s and 1960s. The upper cord also allows the lampshade to be slightly adjusted, altering its shape and light output.
