Ivan Krtsulović was born on November 27, 1932, in Split.
He graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1959.
After completing his studies, he taught at the Technical School of Civil Engineering in Split for several years.
from 1977 to 1979, he was a pedagogical advisor at the Institute of Educational and Pedagogical Services of the Republic of Croatia in Split.
from 1979, he taught at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Zadar and at the Department of Pedagogical Studies in Split, as well as at the Academy of Arts in Split, from its founding until his retirement in 1998.
He has held solo exhibitions in Split, Zagreb, Zurich, London, Dubrovnik, and various locations in Croatia.
