This characteristic travel trunk is reinforced with the signature wooden slats and robust metal hardware. The sides of the trunk are fitted with original metal handles, and the corners are protected by brass corner pieces. The bottom is equipped with small metal wheels.

A striking feature of this trunk is the original historic hotel labels on the top and front, which bear witness to travels to prestigious destinations such as Monte Carlo, Nice, and Venice. Additionally, the side of the trunk features a red band with the initials RT, a personal marking that was customary at the time to quickly identify luggage during long journeys by steamboat or train.

This Louis Vuitton trunk is in an authentic, weathered condition. The checkered canvas shows a natural patina with spots, rings, and wear consistent with the significant age of this object. The metal hardware and handles have developed a dark oxidation layer over time. On the inside, the original wooden construction is visible, featuring the authentic Louis Vuitton label on the side wall. This unlined wooden interior also shows clear signs of age and historical use.
