Large gilt and carved wooden center table with rich decoration typical of the Louis XIV period: the apron is a long frieze of scrolls and foliage, with a central face/macaron.
The four legs are decorated with intertwined quivers and caducei.
This table is topped with an exceptional yellow brocatelle veneer.
The name given to this marble comes from the Italian "brocato," originally a textile technique that gave relief and a dense pattern to the piece.
Brocatelle marble, whether from Spain or France, is a delicate marble to work with and was used for rare pieces.
Some carved wooden elements have been restored; there are a few missing pieces in the frieze, and some wear to the gilding—a few chips to the tabletop.
Piedmontese work from the Louis XIV period.
