Inject high-octane energy and historic Western drama into your interior collection with this striking bronze sculpture, "The Outlaw," crafted after the foundational Western master Frederic Remington (1861–1909) with his signature.
This piece captures a wild, pitching bronco executing a severe buck, completely airborne in its hindquarters, while a determined cowboy fights to stay in the saddle.
The Story & Artistry
Originally modeled by Remington in 1906, The Outlaw is celebrated by art historians as one of his greatest structural and technical achievements. The title does not refer to a human criminal, but rather to the horse itself—an "outlaw" bronco that refuses to be tamed, broken, or ridden.
Remington pushed the boundaries of the lost-wax casting process here: the entire weight of the heavy bronze horse and rider is balanced miraculously on a single, straining front hoof touching the rocky ground.
