This monumental, oversized Southern Outsider Art masterpiece is by celebrated Georgia folk artist Jake "J.T." McCord (1948–2009). Spanning nearly five feet wide, this vibrant piece features two stylized female figures with voluminous black hair and stark white dresses, set against a signature flat green pasture and sky blue backdrop. McCord’s characteristically bold, naive style beautifully captures the raw, expressive essence of vernacular self-taught art.
Artist Background: Born and raised in Thomson, Georgia, Jake McCord worked as a local city groundskeeper while dedicating his free time to painting. He famously displayed his completed works by nailing them directly onto the weathered wood siding of his front porch. Today, his works are highly collectible and have been exhibited at prominent institutions, including the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum and the Morris Museum of Art.
