A spectacular alabaster table lamp from the early 20th century, a time of transition between Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Its design is striking, featuring a stepped shade inspired by the structures of Asian pagodas, resting on a spherical central body and a circular base. Unlike marble, alabaster is a compact, fine-grained stone; it is smooth, translucent, and lightweight, making it the ideal material for sculptures and refined lamps, as in this case, since it allows light to pass through. It is a highly decorative lamp.

Art Nouveau is the term used to describe an artistic movement that took place between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its main aim was to create a young and new art, freer and more modern, a break with the prevailing academicism of the time.
