the front is punctuated by fluted columns with molded capitals and bases, framing a single drawer adorned with gilt brass stringing and two round gilt bronze handles with a rosette motif, and a central keyhole escutcheon in the shape of a knot. The lower section opens with two molded panel doors, fitted with finely chased brass handles and keyhole escutcheons; the internal locking mechanism operates via a rod. The tapered, fluted legs terminate in gilt brass sabots, typical of the louis xvi style. A dovetail joint visible on the side of the drawer testifies to the traditional construction of the period.

the marble top has been polished by a professional stonemason.
