Signed and dated “Martin Bros London & Southall 10-1893” on the base, the pitcher features deeply incised decoration with one of their iconic “Wally Birds” surrounded by stylized foliage in rich earthy brown tones.

The hand-carved surface, sculptural form, and organic glazing embody the distinctive Arts & Crafts aesthetic that made Martin Brothers pottery internationally renowned. A beautiful and historically significant piece for collectors of studio pottery, English ceramics, and Arts & Crafts design.

This pitcher shows age-related wear consistent with its age and use. There are two old professional repairs near the spout area that are not highly visible from the exterior display side.
