This rare and precious table lamp combines the artistry of French porcelain with the nobility of worked brass.

Subject, Style, and Materials: The central body of the lamp is a fine porcelain vase with a deep cobalt blue background, embellished with luminous gold details and a superb hand-painted medallion. The painting depicts a romantic, 18th-century scene, executed with great mastery and rich color detail. The supporting structure and circular base are crafted of heavy gilded brass, richly crafted and embossed with scroll and palmette motifs. The light source is crowned by a beautiful tulip-shaped lampshade in frosted glass, finely engraved with delicate arabesque floral motifs that diffuse a warm, soft light.
