These refined sconces perfectly embody the sophisticated balance between material experimentation and timeless modernist elegance that made Fontana Arte one of the most influential lighting manufacturers of the Italian post-war period. Each wall light is composed of two thick curved glass diffusers in Fontana Arte’s characteristic pale aqua-green crystal glass, delicately enclosing a satin-frosted central diffuser that softly filters and diffuses the light. The layered composition creates a remarkable sense of depth and transparency, while the interaction between polished and frosted surfaces generates a warm and atmospheric glow. The sculptural glass elements are suspended by elegant nickel-plated brass hardware, whose minimalist architectural structure enhances the floating appearance of the glass volumes. Seen from different angles, the lamps continuously change character through reflections, transparency, and light refraction, revealing Max Ingrand’s extraordinary sensitivity toward optical effects and material sophistication.
