Bring a piece of design history into your interior with this rare panama wall lamp (model 4050), designed by wim rietveld and manufactured by gispen culemborg in the netherlands in 1955. This iconic piece reflects the best of dutch industrial design, both minimal in form and highly functional in use. This particular version stands out with its original black lacquered aluminium shade, offering a timeless, neutral aesthetic that blends seamlessly into any space. Even more unique, this lamp retains its original polyester diffuser, a detail often missing, which softens the light beautifully, creating a warm and ambient glow. The diffuser is cleverly held in place by three small metal hooks inside the shade. What makes this lamp truly ingenious is its adjustable mechanism, operated by the striking red key on the wall plate. This smart design allows for seamless vertical and horizontal positioning, while ensuring stability at every angle. The adjustable arm swivels, and the shade can be directed upwards or downwards, making it perfect for reading, accent lighting, or general ambiance. This is not just a lamp, with its original diffuser it’s a museum-worthy design object, rare in this complete condition. While it shows light signs of age, the character and originality remain intact, as shown in the detailed photos. A nice opportunity to own a functional icon of 20th-century design.
