Exquisite early coffee/mocha set, tête-à-tête for two persons, comprising two small pots and two cups with saucers. Two white porcelain pots of different sizes with a cylindrical body and a neck drawn up slightly inwards with a recessed spout; opposite, a j-shaped, raised handle with a split leaf attachment; standing on three volute feet; fitted, fluted domed lids with pine nut knobs; cylindrical cups with smooth, straight sides, j-shaped angular handles with leaf-shaped attachments, saucers with a smooth surface and a rim flaring outwards at an angle. An extremely elegant set featuring a grid-patterned, coloured, stylised cornflower decoration with gold and fine gold raised areas and edges. Conrad sörgel von sorgenthal (1735 nuremberg - 1805 vienna) from 1784 until his death he headed the viennese porcelain manufactory, which under his leadership enjoyed great economic and artistic growth ('painterly period'). Sorgenthal was also the chief official for the state manufacturing system.
