Upholstery velvet is a heavy, dense fabric. In the case of our divan blanket, the pile is made of wool that was dyed before weaving and woven with a very dense, strong cotton fabric as a backing. Our light brown/dark blue blanket with turquoise stripes in a geometric Art Nouveau design shows very slight loss of pile and/or small stains. Washing is recommended. this Object: The dense, heavy, and therefore very durable divan blanket in light brown/dark blue with turquoise stripes, decorated in geometric Art Nouveau style, measures an impressive 3 meters long and 140 cm high. Such blankets served as throws or draperies on sofas or as tablecloths for large dining tables in the living room.
