About: Known for one of the most spontaneous weavers ever, these nomads herd their own sheep, feed them well, make sure their environment is pristine, and basically treat them as family, as they are, for these sheep, goats, and lamb are very much part of their lively hood. That is why in this region where this rug is woven their rugs are some of the best and most artistic in the world. If you look closely, you will see that there is no graph or template that they weave from. Nothing is perfect, nothing is exact, and nothing is symmetrical - which makes these the most magnetic rugs ever. Notice the charming little motifs surrounding the tri-medallion design; these motifs are all symbolic and full of meaning - inspired by nature and their surroundings. Notice all multi-sized animals in this piece, all the Herati Fish inside all of the medallions, and even the asymmetrical colors in the diamonds and animal-packed ivory triangles. The subdued color palette helps create this nice moody feel, and the genuine patina makes it a true character piece. This is a thinner piece, so I would absolutely order a custom cut pad with this piece, as it's thin with wool weave and wool foundation. This is a true conversation piece with such soul and depth, and I would have to say BY FAR one of our favorites.
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available. Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.
