Japanese manufacturers like Kosuga were active in the mid century modern movement from the 1950s to 1970s, producing Scandinavian style furniture for export to the United States. This particular design – with its solid beechwood frames and floating oak backs – most closely resembles the iconic Mosbøl dining chair by Danish manufacturer Findahls.
