Up for sale is a highly desirable, all-original pre-war cast iron Greyhound Lines Bus manufactured by the renowned Arcade Manufacturing Co. of Freeport, Illinois. This is the impressive 9-inch mid-to-large scale version (specifically the #438B / Yellow Coach cruiser profile), capturing the iconic art deco streamlined aesthetic that dominated American transport design in the late 1930s.
This premium example is cast in two pieces with its factory-original, two-tone dark blue body and cream-painted roof section. It features the embossed "Greyhound Lines" lettering flanked by running greyhound insignias on both flanks. It displays its factory-original, unmanipulated black rubber tires with proper silver-painted inset metal hubs—a phenomenal find given the fragility of pre-war rubber elements.
Provenance Note: This exceptional piece was acquired through Marz Auctions, a highly respected name in vintage toy estates.

Condition Report
Overall Condition: Very Good / Collector-Grade Original.
Surface / Paint: Retains a strong percentage of its original factory paint. Shows an honest, highly desirable "play-worn" patina. Paint loss is localized primarily to the raised side ribs, roof line, and front grille, featuring beautifully feathered edges and a stable, dark natural iron micro-oxidation layer.
Body Integrity: Excellent casting. Absolutely NO cracks, breaks, re-welds, or structural repairs to the cast iron body.
Tires & Axles: The hard-to-find original tires are in highly stable, un-petrified condition without severe flat-spotting or deep rot. The solid steel axles feature deep, undisturbed dark oxide crusting confirming they have never been removed or swapped out.

Authenticity Assessment
Expert Note: This toy has been meticulously vetted using industry-standard authenticity markers. The interior side rails display crisp, deeply raised cast block lettering reading "ARCADE" on one panel and "MADE IN U.S.A." on the reverse. The interior floorboard underside bears a sharp, factory-molded casting identification mark. Crucially, the black rubber tires feature the highly elusive, crisp raised lettering reading "ARCADE TOYS" molded directly into the rubber sidewalls. The presence of these sharp interior fonts and the natural, feathered wear profile completely rules out modern reproduction sand-recasts or "bootleg" assemblies.
