The handle features Gorham's highly collectible "Maryland" pattern (debuted in 1895), showcasing a romantic, deeply detailed repoussé design of blooming roses, delicate buds, and scrolling foliage that wraps elegantly down to the base.
The blade features a wonderfully crisp, hand-engraved historical presentation date: "Feb. 23 - 97". The reverse side of the blade is clearly stamped with Gorham’s official historic hallmarks (Lion, Anchor, 'G') alongside the "STERLING" purity mark.
