This is a museum-quality example of fabricated wrought iron construction. Unlike common cast iron or single-sheet vessels, this bucket was masterfully built by a blacksmith using individual vertical and horizontal iron straps, all meticulously secured with hand-set rivets.
The construction allows for incredible structural integrity and a unique aesthetic rhythm created by the overlapping ironwork. The surface features an exceptional original patina—a deep, untouched black-oxide magnetite layer—with vivid hammer facets visible throughout. The heavy-gauge swing bail is mounted to robust, hand-forged lugs. This is a rare "high-primitive" artifact for the serious collector of early metalware or open-hearth antiquities.
