The Cosack table lamp, model 7675, is a characteristic design of German mid-century modernism, combining sculptural form with functional elegance. with its curved brass arm, flat, seemingly floating lampshade, and compact round base, it embodies the clean lines of the 1950s while simultaneously making a striking design statement.
The lamp offered here features the rare and particularly attractive finish of black matte wrinkle lacquer on both the shade and base. The textured surface creates a beautiful contrast to the warm sheen of the brass arm, lending the lamp its high-quality, period-typical appearance.
The generously proportioned lampshade is infinitely adjustable, allowing for flexible light direction – ideal as a desk lamp, reading lamp, or stylish accent lighting on sideboards and side tables. The lamp is conveniently switched on and off via the in-line switch. The electrical components are in perfect working order.
The lamp is in good vintage condition overall, with age-appropriate signs of wear and a light patina that underscores the authentic character of the original.
The lamp was manufactured by Gebrüder Cosack, one of the most important German lighting manufacturers of the 20th century. Founded in 1848 in Neheim-Hüsten, the company became a leading figure in German lighting design, particularly in the post-war period. Cosack was known for its combination of high-quality craftsmanship, innovative design, and technical excellence, and received numerous prestigious design awards throughout its history.
The design of model 7675 is attributed to the designer Karl-Heinz Kinsky, whose work for Cosack is characterized by organic lines and an elegant fusion of function and sculpture. The model series is now among the most sought-after designs of German post-war modernism and was awarded the iF Design Award in 1956. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
