A swedish röllakan flatweave rug designed by judith johansson (1916–1993), titled strømmar grå, circa 1950.
woven in wool with a soft grey ground, the rug features a repeating geometric motif in muted tones of blue, green, ochre and rust, arranged in a rhythmic lattice formation across the field. The restrained palette and balanced composition are characteristic of johansson’s work, combining traditional scandinavian weaving techniques with a distinctly modernist sensibility.
