A swedish flatweave kilim rug designed by judith johansson (1916–1993), titled norrviken, circa 1950.
woven in wool with a restrained palette of tonal grey, cream and muted blue, the composition features a stylised geometric border framing a softly mottled central field. The rhythmic stepped motifs and subtle colour gradations reflect johansson’s refined interpretation of traditional scandinavian textile design, balancing folk influences with a distinctly modernist sensibility.
