Subject and Style: The sculpture depicts the Hindu deity Kali in her most famous and powerful iconography, portrayed with three arms as she tramples Lord Shiva, who lies on the rocky base next to an erect cobra. The figure is adorned with the traditional radiate crown (prabhavali) and skull necklace (mundamala), while clutching ceremonial attributes such as the ritual sword. The sculptural rendering and attention to symbolic detail give the work a strong visual and decorative impact.
