Mid-20th-century Italian painting. Oil on canvas, antique-style, artwork depicting an architectural capriccio, a view with ruins and figures, with good pictorial quality. The painting is adorned with a beautifully decorated carved and lacquered wooden frame in a faux tortoiseshell look.
This painting draws inspiration from the works of 17th- and 18th-century artists, a period when paintings of ruins were highly sought after. This large, horizontally arranged painting is ideal for a living room or study. It has good depth, and the painter masterfully incorporates numerous details into the architecture and brings the figures to life. In good condition. Internal dimensions: H 79 x W 108 cm.
