Venetian-style mirror made around 1940-50, continuing the tradition of Italian production inspired by 18th and 19th-century mirrors.
Made entirely of glass, it consists of a central pane surrounded by engraved bezels, with no visible solid frame.
The entire piece is mounted on a black-painted wooden frame.
The central pane has a wide bevel that accentuates the depth and light.
The bezels are acid-etched on the reverse side with stylized wheat ears and foliage motifs in a simplified Venetian decorative style.
The fixing screws are concealed by molded glass rosettes.
The mirror retains its original silvering with a patina of age, marked by slight pitting and orange hues from oxidation, without altering the reflection.
The back is protected by its original cardboard backing and fitted with its twisted wire hanging system.
