Set on a tiered, pierced brass gallery base, the lamp features an incredibly detailed, high-relief hand-painted narrative scene on a dramatic matte black ground. Complete with its original, high-quality vintage knife-pleated fabric shade.

• The Scene: Depicts a rich narrative of immortal Buddhist Arhats (Lohans) with halos, a young attendant, and a sacred white elephant carrying a deity beneath a traditional pagoda.

• The Technique: Exceptional raised "Moriage" slip-trailing creates a three-dimensional, tactile texture on the porcelain faces and garments.

• Accents: Embellished with heavy, vibrant gold-gilt borders, raised detailing, and fine background dotting to accentuate the scene.
