Warm ochre, red and dark green surfaces give the townscape a restrained warmth against the pale winter ground, while the slightly elevated perspective creates both intimacy and distance.

Bo Olsson Perman was a Swedish painter closely associated with both Södertälje and Jämtland, where town views and landscapes around Östersund became recurring themes in his work. He studied under Edvin Ollers and later travelled in Europe, working primarily in oil and pastel.

A finely preserved mid-century work, both regionally rooted and quietly atmospheric.
