Built through thick, tactile layers of oil paint, the composition dissolves a seated gathering of figures into expressive blocks of colour and texture. Deep ultramarine blue, muted green, ochre and soft rose tones move across the canvas in a restrained yet emotionally charged palette.

Gösta Falck was a multi-talented artist who initially worked as a violinist before dedicating his life to painting. His mid-career transition toward semi-abstract, Fauvist-inspired figure compositions remains his most highly sought-after period.

A compelling and highly decorative Nordic modernist work with strong mid century character.

In good vintage condition with age-related craquelure and one small paint loss along the lower edge, visible in photos. Frame with vintage wear.
