Sven Eugén Nilsson was a Swedish artist based in Sundsvall where he created atmospheric Nordic landscape paintings focusing on nature and Scandinavian light. Today he is highly celebrated as the primary inspiration and grandfather to the internationally recognized contemporary pop artist Peter Eugén. Peter spent much of his childhood inside his grandfather's art studio and later adopted the name Eugén to honor his artistic legacy.

The composition depicts a quiet Nordic harbour landscape with rowing boats, weathered piers, and a small coastal settlement unfolding beneath a soft Scandinavian sky. Painted in restrained tones of muted blue, earthy green, sand, and warm red-brown, the work balances realism with a gentle modernist simplification of form.

This mid century painting remains in very good vintage condition with minor wear to the frame.
