Rare and superb round Limoges porcelain serving platter by Camille Le Tallec, "Chinese Circus" pattern.
Hand-painted and gilded with fine gold.
Signed under the base: "Designed and painted entirely by hand by Le Tallec in Paris."
Date letters RR or RU for 1987/1988.
Very good condition, no chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
Diameter: 30 cm (12 in)
This pattern was preserved and reissued by Tiffany & Co. in the 2000s for its famous "Private Stock" series.
The Chinese Circus pattern is an exquisite design with intricate, colorful, and delightful scenes.
The motif is executed in a "Chinoiserie" style, evoking scenes from 18th-century China. The design features whimsical 18th-century depictions of Chinese circus performers with fantastical animals, structures, jugglers, trees, and flowers.
