Originates from northern China, from the early 20th century, where local pine was worked using mortise-and-tenon joinery without nails, with solid tops and H-shaped lower stretchers.In the rural houses of northern China, low tables served as a support surface beside the kang, an informal dining table or a domestic working surface. Their reduced height matched the custom of living close to the floor, established in northern China.Built in solid pine using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, without nails. The top, formed by longitudinal planks joined edge to edge, rests on four square-section legs with H-shaped lower stretchers. The carpentry is clean and the constructive reading remains visible.The patina retains the warm tone of aged pine, with the grain drawing deep lines on the top and a matte sheen. The surface shows marks, stains and traces of prolonged domestic use, integrated into the wood. The structure remains solid.It fits naturally in wabi-sabi, contemporary rustic or minimalist interiors. It works as a low living-room table, a bench-sideboard in an entrance or a base for an object composition. Its restraint lets it combine with pieces from different periods.
