The character wields a curved blade whose arc mirrors the sweeping motion of his billowing cloak. The intentionally rugged surface and vigorous modeling enhance the dramatic intensity of the piece. Produced using the lost-wax technique, the work is characterized by its sweeping dynamic and massive volumes typical of German Expressionism.
