Very rare meissen art nouveau porcelain group: a dancing couple in elegant casual wear: the lady in a long, fitted dress with a white skirt and black-and-green striped sleeves; on her hair, tied up high, an oversized white hat with a lavish rust-red feather decoration; on her feet, golden high-heeled shoes; the gentleman in a light brown suit with black lapels, a light green waistcoat with orange pinstripes and a blue tie, grey dancing shoes with black mesh and low heels; both facing each other in a dancing pose, performing a dance step side by side. Set on a white, flat oval base. Designer: alfred könig (1871 - 1940) studied at the art academy in dresden, since 1897 he worked in the meissen manufactory as a designer and modeler. The artist specialized in the design of human figures in various variations, such as genre figures, children, athletes, soldiers etc. Model d 212 was created and made circa 1912.
