Coopered wood stave construction with rattan bindings, finished in warm amber lacquer and decorated throughout with brush-painted auspicious motifs — plum blossom, lotus, orchid, bamboo, and birds — alongside classic fret and wave borders. Arched bentwood handle with original brass butterfly-form clasp. Traditionally used to transport wedding gifts and ceremonial foods. Retains wonderful original patina and surface. See less
