Antique faux bamboo mirror with original mirror plate and backing, entirely in Chinoiserie style; this style was very popular during the Art Nouveau period, originating from France, first half of the 20th century.
This beautiful wooden frame has been turned and worked to resemble real bamboo, hence the name faux bamboo. This piece bears a very beautiful weathered patina of age; the mirror glass is slightly speckled and decoratively oxidized, which is common in very old mirrors.
This object is in very good antique condition, with light signs of age and use consistent with its age, and a few small cracks in the wood due to age, but nothing bothersome. Check the photos for more details!
