It is an original hand drawn architectural details ink and ink wash. 13.75" wide, 20" tall. The drawing substrate is a stiff, thick board of some type. This looks like what architecture students would do at universities such as the Beaux Arts in the late 1800's or early 1900's, maybe up to the 1940's. "Ionic" refers to the style of column that is drawn (versus Doric, or Corinthian). On the back are some notes from the artist: "Light to Dark", "Dark to Light", and "Contrast Decrease with Distance". The substrate is a heavy watercolor pulp board by "James Whatman" who started making paper in 1750. This piece is beautifully detailed, and signed by the artist. A truly unique and beautiful decorative piece. See less
