Extremely personal collaborative process between Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. Cassini, her hand chosen couturier, during her White House years

Mrs. Kennedy’s exceptional manners are evident throughout, but show most poignantly in her correspondence with Mr. Cassini, she never fails to contact him, just to tell him how much she enjoyed wearing a particular dress or a coat she loved, sometimes the morning after, whatever event she wore his exclusive designs for her. They sat and plotted her wardrobe for her official trips, or an important event she needed to attend.

Mr. Cassini, was in his prime, in my personal opinion, the absolute best of his lengthy and prolific career, was the work he did for Mrs. Kennedy... just looking at the clothes you can see how much he liked the person he was designing for.

Frankly speaking, what a plum assignment he had been tasked with... dressing a woman with Mrs. Kennedy's pedigree, with an elevated taste level.... and flat out a love for clothes and fulfilling her role, the First Lady of the United States of America. They made a perfect tandem, she wore the clothes like no other could, had every photographers lens wherever she went... these things were foremost in Mr. Cassini's mind. He delivered an exceptional body of work.

She truly was the best dressed First Lady our country has seen to date.

Perhaps, due to the tragic end of her Pennsylvania Avenue days... she will forever be the best dressed First Lady.
