The table is built entirely from pine throughout. The circular top is composed of pine boards with a richly figured, knotted grain — each plank individual and expressive, framed by a solid moulded edge. Below, the turned bobbin-form column rises from a heavy, profiled circular base: the stacked bulbous forms reveal the grain of the pine in hypnotic concentric rings that are entirely unique to turned pine of this character. The combination of organic material drama and skilled hand-turning gives this table a presence that far exceeds its modest origins.

The piece pairs beautifully with Scandinavian pine chairs of the same era and works effortlessly in a wabi-sabi, Japandi, or naturalistic interior. See less
