Executed in high relief, the panel captures the streamlined athletic energy of the interwar period. The stylised figure is modelled with confident geometric rhythm and strong surface texture, combining sporting subject matter with industrial material presence and modernist simplification of form.

Born in New York to Swedish parents, Ebeling relocated to Sweden in 1908 and later trained at the Technical School and Althins Painting School. He went on to establish an independent practice, with works now represented in the collections of the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, and the Ebeling Museum in Torshälla. An example of this relief model is recorded in the Ebeling Museum collection.

The present example was acquired via Stockholms Auktionsverk, Sweden. Sculptural and architectural in character, it offers strong Art Deco-era sporting design with striking decorative presence for interior display. Very good vintage condition. The cast surface retains an even and attractive patina with minor age-related wear consistent with period. No structural damage observed. Stable and ready to display.
