An original mid-century architectural presentation drawing by Janet Bentley, produced as part of a fourth-year submission at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, circa 1953–54.
Titled Round Pavilion / Aquarium Study, the work explores a circular pavilion conceived as an aquarium or civic leisure structure. The composition integrates plan, elevation and perspective within a single board, executed in ink and pencil with white chalk highlights on a distinctive blue paper ground.
The drawing reflects the clarity and optimism of post-war British architectural education, where presentation boards combined technical precision with strong graphic intent. The balanced geometry and restrained palette give the work a quietly sculptural presence.
A unique mid-century architectural work on paper with authentic academic provenance, equally suited to collectors of architectural drawings and design-led interiors. This piece has an attribution mark,
