This is a cast polyurethane resin sculpture, painted in matte cobalt blue, mounted on a burgundy cylindrical base. Dimensions: 28 × 14 × 10 cm. It is a limited edition of 30 copies + 10 artist's proofs. This copy is number 16/30, published by Dilecta, a publishing house and gallery in Paris.

The Walt Disney Productions series, launched in 1984 and regularly exhibited since, consists of enlargements of abstract sketches drawn by the Mickey Mouse cartoonist for an adventure of the hero in a modern art museum. Lavier also created the sculptures imagined in this book: by isolating these decorative elements and reproducing them at full size, he elevated what was merely scenery and fiction to the status of art objects.

More specifically, these motifs are taken from a story published in the Journal de Mickey in 1977 under the title "Very Abstract Lines," drawn by the Italian artist Sergio Asteriti. In it, Mickey and Minnie set off in search of thieves who have stolen paintings from a modern art museum.

The abstract, biomorphic blue form was therefore originally a simple decorative element in a Disney comic strip—elevated by Lavier to the status of contemporary art sculpture, in a typically post-Duchampian gesture.
