This highly decorative piece … Read more An exceptional Murano art glass pitcher vase attributed to Vetreria Barbieri, Italy, dating from the 1970s.
This highly decorative piece features a sculptural bulbous body with elongated neck, dramatic flame-like decoration in vivid orange and black over opaline white glass, and an elegant twisted clear glass handle.
The composition is particularly striking because of the flowing movement of the décor, which almost resembles molten lava or stylized flames — a very characteristic aesthetic of Italian Space Age and late mid-century Murano production.
The vase retains remnants of its original VB Murano label, supporting the attribution to Vetreria Barbieri.
Beautifully hand-blown, with visible depth, internal movement, and small controlled bubbles typical of authentic Venetian studio glass.
