Pair of 18th-century Gilded Wood and Floral Carving Cornucopia Wall Lights in excellent condition, composed of two twisted cornucopias filled with carved flowers and plant and leaf motifs. The two horns of plenty, symbols of good fortune, are carved with a soft, curved line, starting from two carved oak leaves at the base and culminating in the upper light source, on twisted arms terminating in iron bobeches and large sockets suitable for two E27 bulbs.
Featuring a splendid water-gilding finish with pure gold leaf, this pair of two-light Italian gilded wall lights dates back to the 18th century. They were created from two carved altar pyramids or similar friezes, as can be seen from the joints on the back, where spacers were added for easy wall hanging.
They come from a private villa in Milan and are in excellent, working condition.
