The piece is manufactured in glossy ABS plastic with alternating ivory and black surfaces creating a strong graphic rhythm characteristic of Italian Space Age furniture from the period. The compact proportions and integrated wheels reinforce the flexible and mobile approach explored by Kartell in its modular storage systems of the decade.

Unlike traditional storage furniture, this design combines practical functionality with a sculptural visual presence, transforming a utilitarian object into a highly architectural interior element. The recessed black drawers contrast with the lighter outer structure, emphasizing depth and modularity.

This example belongs to the Kartell model 4602 series and can naturally be paired with the taller black and green five drawer version from the same Simon Fussell production.

Very good vintage condition. superficial scratches and sparse discoloration consistent with age and use. deeper marks and discoloration on the top surface. some of the internal housings into which the pegs are inserted are not perfectly intact (this is not visible and does not affect the stability or functionality of the chest of drawers).
